"The Demon Biker of Philly"

(Friday, 11th June 1999 10.05 p.m. )

The thing is - I'd really rather not talk about the weather! But you have to understand - it's so bloody aweful! Alright - enough - except to mention that today was like Siberia.

I haven't been writing as much as I thought I would - mainly, I think, because so much time this week has been spent in figuring out my trip back East. I've made a lot of progress and it's starting to take shape. When I first started planning, a month seemed like so much time. But when I started figuring out a few days here, and a night there - all of a sudden it doesn't seem long enough.

I got together for dinner with Alan after a beastly hard workout tonight. We met at the same place, same table we had brunch last weekend, with the same waiter. I was there waiting, with my newspaper and I felt like we were two old guys meeting at our same spot in the same deli we'd been meeting for years. Maybe that's the future :)

He wants me to say nice things about him (and he calls me narcistic! :). Hmmm....

We got terribly nostalgic about Philadelphia. We lived just a few blocks from each other for years, and never met, which is kind of funny, considering we both hung out at the same bars in Philly's insular little gay community. I can't believe he didn't remember me - the demon biker of Philly - it still doesn't ring a bell Alan? Oh well. It's funny the things we were nostalgic for - shootouts on Chestnut Street, greasy diners like Little Pete's, horrible dingy gay bars.

In case you're wondering - Alan and I are just friends.
