| "Very Hot Day in London" |
Oh Lord it was hot and sticky today. And I'd arranged to go with Kirstie and Dad to London for the day. At first, in Regents Park, it was just about bearable.
We escaped by renting deck-chairs and sitting in the shade next to the lake. But then a band started playing Irish folk music, a genre of music that we all agreed is an acquired taste. So we moved on.
The beautiful South Bank. (Irony is back)
We made our way slowly down the river, stopping frequently to hide from the sun.
And I confess to becoming a little ... shall we say ... disgruntled. It was all a bit too hot for me. But in England, there's no escape from it, since air-conditioning is not to be found.
Still, the light improved as the evening approached, and I was able to put together this nice composite. This photo expands into a wide photo you'll have to scroll across. 100K.
