"Getting Ready for a Month Off"

An extremely blah week, with little opportunity for me to get excited about my trip, which starts on Tuesday. Reason for the blahs is mostly that I've felt, all week, like I'm coming down with the flu; very sore throat, body aches, fatigue. But so far, the main event hasn't arrived. It's probably waiting for Tuesday morning, when I'll be flying to New York.

Timing is everything. And my computer chose July 3rd to die on me. It wouldn't boot up, and it turned out that the hard-disk was bad. It took me three days, and six hundred dollars to get the disk replaced and rescue the data. All this when I was hoping to be copying things from the computer to my laptop, ready for my trip.

So things can only get better right? Tomorrow we're having the premiere of our movie for the cast and crew. It will be the first time anybody has seen it except for Scott, Jim, myself, and our composer Gene. It still won't be quite finished, but the editing should be mostly done, most of the soundtrack mixed in, and our new logo for our "production company" should kick it all of.

I don't have much energy to write more than this today. Just a couple of things, before I go. I mentioned an accident to Cecilia a few weeks ago. Well, her foot turned out not to be broken. There, I'm sure you're all relieved. I also mentioned that I'd started looking for a new apartment. Well, obviously, I came to my senses and realized there was no point to doing that in the midst of shooting a movie then going on vacation for a month. So I've put that on hold until I come back.

So next time I write, I'll be in New York, in a comfy hotel near Lincoln Center. I am, in truth, looking forward to it. Just hope I feel a lot better than I do now. I'm planning on taking it easy during my vacation. Not too much rushing around. Lot's of writing, and sitting around in cafes. Hope to write a journal entry daily, with photos. See you in New York.
