| "Shooby, Wooby, Wooby, Doo" |
I feel good, shooby wooby wooby do. Or whatever. Yes, let it be officially known that Keith has been in a great mood for the last two weeks. I feel everything is going in the right direction, at least for the moment. It reinforces in my mind how relative everything is. Not so long ago, I was feeling mildly depressed. Yet, in all honesty, little in my life has changed since then - it's all a matter of perspective. I wish, like I'm sure many of you do too, that when I'm feeling down I could remember why I have so many reasons to be thankful.
I haven't heard back from that Internet start-up, which surprises me a little. Everytime they called, the guy made it sound like they thought I was perfect for the job. As it happens, I'd pretty much already decided that I was going to stick it out at my current job and make it work for me, since this job is more compatible with my current lifestyle. But it's nice to be wanted. I'd bet though that the reason they haven't followed up on me is that they must have detected my failing interest. If I'd REALLY wanted that job, I'd have been calling weekly to find out when my second interview was going to be.
It kind of reminds of the dating world. We tell each other how interested we are then neither of us calls the other and interest fades away. Hmmm - maybe there's a lesson here...
I've been having awesome work-outs recently. The combination of positive thinking, and a small change of diet has given me much more energy to expend at the gym, and Cecilia has been putting me through my paces.
In the spirit of big dreams, I abruptly decided that my hazy ideas of taking some time off in the Summer to travel in Europe should become a bigger and more certain reality. I'm planning on taking two months off (obviously, some of it unpaid). I want to spend a couple of weeks in Italy, and six weeks driving around England, visiting friends, family, places I've never been, like Bath, Cornwall, Canterbury, and childhood favorite places such as the Lake District.
Tomorrow morning, I'm flying to Austin for a few days, to work with my colleagues on the project I'm chained to for my company. I'm staying until Saturday evening so that I can see a little of the city during the daytime that day. See y'all in Texas!
