"My Dirty Little Secret"

(San Francisco, Thursday, 9th September 1999, 6.39 p.m. PST. )

My dirty little secret. When life is hectic, like it is right now, my apartment becomes a pig sty. Clothes everywhere, dirty mixed with clean; dishes in the sink, and you should see my desk.

Things show no sign of slowing down. I spent all of today in a class. But during breaks, I was monitoring a series of emails and phone calls which were dictating what I'll be doing in the coming weeks. By the end of the day, after the smoke had cleared, I'd reserved a flight to Los Angleles for Sunday night, returning on Thursday, and a flight to our headquarters in the south for the following Sunday, returning the Wednesday after that.

I guess I'm complaining too much. I really kind of enjoy travelling anyway, particularly when I'm not paying for it. I'm racking up frequent-flyer miles, I'm cutting down on my own expenses since everything is paid for, and I'm getting to visit places like D.C. and LA for free. The negative side to all of this is that my home life is next to non-existent, and stupid little things like paying bills and doing laundry never get done. And then of course I have to spend time in non-glitzy places like our headquarters in the south.
